I am a 3rd year PhD student in the School of Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh, also funded by the Facility Development Scheme at ISIS Neutron and Muon Source. My work focuses on improving understanding of lithium ore materials, in particular the borosilicate jadarite (LiNaSiB3O7(OH)), through characterisation and synthesis. I also work with the Muon group at ISIS to demonstrate that Muonic X-ray Emission Spectroscopy is a powerful elemental analytical technique that can be used to quantify lithium in lithium ores.
