Dr Wojciech Mrozik

Faraday Institution Senior Research Fellow, Newcastle University

Dr Wojciech Mrozik is a Faraday Institution Senior Research Fellow at Newcastle University. He is an expert in the risk assessment and identification of hazards associated with electrochemical storage systems (mainly lithium-ion batteries). Wojciech also have 20+ years in environmental impact assessment and identification of emerging pollutants.

Prior to joining Newcastle University was an Associate Professor at the Medical University of Gdansk, Poland. Currently, Wojciech is a vital member of the “SafeBatt: Science of Battery Safety” project funded by Faraday Institution, and other industrial projects in which he is responsible for large-scale (module, pack BESS) safety/ abuse testing of Lithium-ion Batteries. He is also engaged in training and educating firefighters and other first responders, stakeholders, and trade associations. He is a member of a number of BSI committees and working groups.
