Dr. Ioan-Bogdan Magdău joined Newcastle University as a Lecturer in Computational and Data-driven Chemistry in April 2023. His expertise spans computational science, condensed matter physics, theoretical chemistry, and molecular modelling. Dr. Magdau completed his PhD at the University of Edinburgh, studying the behaviour of solid hydrogen under high pressures. His postdoctoral work includes exploring Terahertz-Raman spectra of molecular liquids at Caltech and developing Machine Learning techniques for battery materials simulations at the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on understanding complex molecular processes and advancing materials science through innovative computational methods.
