An operational firefighter, EV charging and electrification specialist, Emma Sutcliffe’s unique combination of interests led her to establish EV FireSafe, the only global database of verified electric vehicle battery fires.
Funded by the Australian Department of Defence and referenced by an international network of emergency agencies and EV manufacturers, EV FireSafe provides data-driven learnings to enhance the safety of all emergency responders managing incidents involving lithium-ion batteries and electric vehicles.
If the transition to an electrified world is to be successful, the global emergency response community must be involved in the journey. EV FireSafe aims to answer the question; what do emergency responders need to know to successfully adapt century-old firefighting techniques to EVs…and how quickly can we get them there?
