Dr Phil Reeve

Phil joined The Hazardous Materials Team at HSE Science Division in January of 2023. Prior to joining HSE Phil obtained his PhD and worked for several years in the field of synthetic organic chemistry. Since joining HSE, Phil has been predominantly involved in lithium-ion battery failure research, but also explosives and hazardous chemical projects. Lithium-ion battery failure is  now Phil’s main area of interest. He specialises in delivering HSE battery failure research projects, the design, build and commissioning of battery failure test facilities and undertaking bespoke commercial battery failure testing scenarios for a range of external stakeholders.
