Iain Aldous

Iain brings 15 years of academic and industrial experience in energy storage, beginning in spectroelectrochemical analysis and battery materials synthesis before moving into applied electrochemical engineering. He led an engineering research group developing spectroelectrochemical tools and scale‑up methodologies, integrating recycled materials into advanced workflows. His work with EU, UK and Senedd governments provided insight into national strategy and deployment. After transitioning to industry, he founded his own company, gaining first‑hand experience of start‑ups and commercialisation challenges. Iain now leads Product Business for Alvatek, enabling success across the UK energy storage research community.
