Dr Yang Xu

Dr Yang Xu is an Associate Professor in Energy Storage in the Department of Chemistry at UCL. He obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Science and Technology of China. He carried out postdoctoral research at Boston College (US), University of Alberta (Canada), and Technical University of Ilmenau (Germany), before he joined UCL in 2019. His research focuses on next-generation battery chemistries and materials for Na/K/Ca system, including intercalation chemistry, interfaces, metal electrodeposition, and anionic redox activity. He was awarded the MINE Outstanding Young Scientist Award (2019), Royal Society Short Industry Fellowship (2020) and STFC Early Career Award (2023).
