Dr Svetlana Menkin

Dr Svetlana Menkin is a Royal Society Research Fellow in the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge, where she leads a research group developing sustainable battery technologies. She previously completed a postdoctoral position at Cambridge with Prof. Dame Clare Grey. Dr Menkin is a co-PI on the Faraday Institution’s SAFEBATT project. Her research focuses on improving the safety of lithium-ion and anode-free batteries using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) to detect early signatures of internal short circuits. The Menkin Group investigates electrified interfaces to develop safer, high-energy batteries based on sustainable sodium, calcium, zinc, and lithium chemistries.
