Dr Maryam Nojabaee

Dr Maryam Nojabaee leads the Battery Technology Group at the Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics, German Aerospace Center (DLR). Her research focuses on the electrochemistry of next-generation rechargeable batteries, with particular emphasis on lithium–sulfur and multivalent metal battery chemistries. She combines advanced electrochemical methods with operando and spatially resolved characterization to investigate transport phenomena, reaction kinetics, and interfacial processes across multiple length scales. By establishing mechanistic relationships between intrinsic material properties, interfacial phenomena, component architecture, and cell behaviour, her research aims to provide the scientific foundation for the rational design of next-generation electrochemical energy storage systems.
