Dr Jingwen Weng

Dr Jingwen Weng is an Imperial College Research Fellow (IRF), leading independent research on lithium-ion battery safety, degradation, gas-induced swelling and thermal runaway. Her work focuses on gas and electrolyte-driven degradation mechanisms, and thermal safety strategies enabled by phase change materials. 

She is a former Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow, a European Talent Academy (ETA) 2026 cohort member, and an Early Career Editorial Board member of Applied Thermal Engineering. Her honours include the ECS Young Professional & Early Career Travel Grant and Guangdong Science and Technology Award First Prize (Key Safety Technologies and Applications for Power Battery System).
