Dr.-Ing. Annika Völp

Dr.-Ing. Annika Völp is an Application Specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where she specializes in polymer extrusion and twin-screw compounding processes for battery material manufacturing. Her work focuses on advancing materials processing technologies that support the development and scale-up of next-generation energy storage solutions.
Annika earned her Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) from the Institute for Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany. During her doctoral research, she investigated the structure–property relationships and rheological behavior of foams, contributing to a deeper understanding of complex material systems. She also holds a graduate degree in Bioengineering from KIT.
Combining expertise in materials science, rheology, and process engineering, Annika works closely with industry and research partners to develop and optimize compounding and extrusion solutions for battery applications
