Jerry Barker received a PhD in solid state electrochemistry from the University of Exeter. Jerry was co-founder and CTO at Faradion Limited, a UK-based start-up commercializing Na-ion battery technology. Previously Jerry was Chief Scientist and Research Director at Valence Technology Inc.
Jerry has published extensively and is the named inventor on more than 115 issued US patents. These inventions have culminated in five commercially successful battery ventures and the carbothermal reduction method is widely-regarded as the global benchmark process for the volume manufacture of LiFePO4. In 2012, Jerry was awarded the IBA Technology Award and the ECS Europe’s Alessandro Volta medal in 2022. In 2019, Jerry was appointed Honorary Professor at the University of St. Andrews.
To target the sustainable Li-CAM supply chain, Jerry founded the start-up company, Redoxion Limited in April 2022 where he serves as CEO. Redoxion is developing proprietary and scalable manufacturing methods for LFP and LMFP.
