Dr Eric Woillez

Research-Engineer, CEA

Selected Talk | Battery Modelling | Tuesday 9th September 2025 – 14:00 -16:00 – Woods Scawen, Upper Foyer, Ground Floor

Eric Woillez is a research engineer in the Energy and Hydrogen Department at CEA Grenoble. He graduated from the École Normale Supérieure in Paris with a specialization in theoretical physics and mathematics, and went on with a PhD in modern statistical physics. Over time, he developed a strong interest in applied and experimental physics. Since 2021, his work at CEA has centered on Li-ion battery modeling, with a particular emphasis on upscaling methods to derive physics-based models at the macroscale. Recently, he has launched an intensive research effort on electrode microstructure modeling, exploring electrochemical and mechanical coupling, and degradation phenomena.
